In response to the attack on the National Citizen Party (NCP) rally in Gopalganj, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has issued a three-point demand to the government, accompanied by a 24-hour ultimatum. The ultimatum was announced during an emergency press conference held at Shahbagh intersection in the capital at 7:30 PM on Wednesday (July 16) by the organization’s president, Rifat Rashid. Demanding the immediate issuance of the July Proclamation, Rifat Rashid stated, “The entire police system must be reformed and restructured. A nationwide crackdown against Awami League supporters must be conducted, including in Gopalganj.” Issuing a stern warning, he added, “We don’t want to see anyone from the Awami League spared from accountability. These demands must be met within 24 hours. If they are not fulfilled, we will announce tougher programs.” **Three-Point Demands of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement:** 1. The July Proclamation must be issued immediately. 2. The Awami League-dominated police structure must be dismantled, and the entire system reformed. 3. Within the next 24 hours, a nationwide crackdown must be launched in Gopalganj and across the country to arrest all active Awami League “terrorists.”
