Schoolgirl Tajneen Rafa Dies After Falling from Fourth Floor in Mohakhali

 Tajneen Rafa, a 15-year-old schoolgirl, died after falling from the fourth floor of a multi-story building in Mohakhali, Dhaka. The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening (July 23). Tajneen was a ninth-grade student at BF Shaheen School and College.

Tajneen was the only daughter of expatriate Arif Hossain Titu from Rangbalia village in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district. She lived with her mother Nupur on the fourth floor of a rented apartment near a mosque in the Wireless Gate area of Mohakhali.

Nupur said her daughter was very talented in studies. Recently, Tajneen scored low marks in a class exam in one subject, and her mother had asked her about it. Shortly afterward, at around 5 pm on Wednesday, Tajneen jumped from the apartment balcony in a fit of frustration without the family's knowledge and was seriously injured.

She was immediately taken to a local hospital and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for advanced treatment. At around 8 pm, doctors on duty at DMCH declared her dead.

Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the police camp at DMCH, confirmed the incident and said the deceased’s body has been kept in the morgue of the hospital’s emergency department. The authorities of Banani Police Station have been informed regarding the case.
