The International Crimes Tribunal-2 is set to deliver its order on the framing of charges in the case of crimes against humanity related to the murder of Abu Sayed, a student of Begum Rokeya University, during the July-August 2024 uprising. The order will be issued today, Wednesday (August 6), by a three-member judicial panel led by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury.Six accused individuals in this case have been brought before the tribunal. They are:
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Amir Hossain
Former Proctor of Begum Rokeya University, Shariful Islam
Constable Sujan Chandra Roy
Chhatra League leader Imran Chowdhury
Rafiul Hasan Russel
Anwar Parvez
Earlier, on July 30, the International Crimes Tribunal fixed August 6 as the date for the charge framing order in this case. Notably, on July 22, the tribunal declared 24 individuals, including the former Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University and the former Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, as absconding.
Meanwhile, in related developments, eight individuals in a case involving the burning of six bodies in Ashulia and three individuals in a case concerning the killing of five people in Lakshmipur have been presented before the tribunal.
